As long as the title is clear i.e. no liens, and the title is in your name, you may sell, donate, or junk the car. I would reccomend donating, or junking. Out of state titles tend to make potential buyers weary. Junk yards, and charities don't care as long is it's clear. If you junk it, you should get around 100 bucks for it, I would guess.

If the car really has the problems you described, it most likely has other problems as well you may not know about. The car has probably depreciated to the point that it's basically worthless. Put it on Ebay as a "parts vehicle". Occasionally somebody will want a front clip or the wheels or seats or something big and will buy the car for a few bucks. But make sure you stress "No Shipping"!!

If that method is not appealing, remove every trace of the VIN from the car (dash plaque, door stickers, etc) and dump the car in a ditch somewhere on a deserted rural road!

continually parent approx. 17,000 miles in accordance to three hundred and sixty 5 days on a vehicle on time-honored. so that you've had it 10 years, or it is 10 years previous, so the mileage is pretty a lot precise. the motor vehicle became pushed complicated. Are you going to do the artwork your self or have it achieved through an outdoors source. stay remote from the mummy and dad shops as they received't be there in 6 months even regardless of the actuality that they grant you with a ten 3 hundred and sixty 5 days assure on the tranny. once you replace the tranny-get a rebuilt one in case you could, plenty more low-cost. automobile wrecking yards can inform you more desirable about dirct prices, yet you should eliminate the factors your self and positioned them in besides. bypass/end can be a gas injection equipment difficulty. With those form of issues incorrect along with your vehicle you're speaking 1000's of funds. some thousand for the tranny artwork itself. yet another $250+ for the A/C. Tracing the gas injection equipment gas ines, tank, carborator, etc. even more desirable money. i wish you purchased the motor vehicle for $one hundred fifty. in case you paid some thing more desirable, and having tranny complications from the start, you purchased ripped off large time. Sorry for the undesirable information. Take it as a studying journey and continually have a mechanic seem at a used vehicle in the previous you quit any money. A 1996 Intrepid with that many miles ought to have any guy operating in the different route. can't say you probably did not try! $$$$Oops!

You can register and get a NC title. There is a fee, but I forget what it is. Call the NCDMV. You have 30 days (I think) from then to get the inspection done. The system is computerized and you will get fined if you don't do it in time. The trick is to sell or trade the vehicle before the time limit expires to get the inspection.

As long as the car is in a garage out of the streets it's ok if its not running or inspected.
Inspection is to make sure it's not hazardous on the road.
You can sell it for parts. The windows, the engine, the tire ..believe me even dead tires sell, every part it in can be sold.

Whomever will buy it as is from you will have to fix it anyway before passing the state inspection. If they are ok with it you can give them a break on the price and they'll buy it off you.

If you donate it the donee would be responsible for the repairs and the registration once repaired.
You could sell the car as a parts car, and create a bill of sale that specifies that this is what you are selling it for. The new owner would then be liable for the repairs and the registration costs.

The car does not have to be re registered. I would put it in the paper for a few hundred bucks and someone will buy it as a fixer upper or parts.

you can sell it as-is. the buyer would then register it wherever he lives. It doesn't matter where the car is registered. If you plan to drive it in NC, you need to re-register it in NC. Once 30 days are up, you are technically breaking the law.
