Balance and equilibrium are sensed in the inner ear by fluid-filled semicircular canals. It takes a few seconds for the movement of the fluid in these canals to stop moving after you stop spinning, giving the sensation of continued spinning.

Its because in your Ear there`s liquids which balances your equilibrium.
Without equilibrium you would have 0 balance and you wouldn`t be able to walk straight.
When you spin yourself around what your doing to those liquids is like taking a bottle of water with a cap and shaking it up.
When it stops it still takes awhile for the water to settle.
When you stop spinning your equilibrium jacked up because the liquids in your ear have not settled.

it's your equilibrium, located near your ears.. it's what helps you keep your balance with out it you couldn't walk or do anything.. spinning affects this part of you.. you know it's what keeps cats landing on there feet all the time.. and FYI if you take a bandanna and tie it around a cats waist near their back legs, the cat will not be able to walk or even stand up.. a cats equilibrium is in that area..... so keep spinning and enjoy the free high!!

Im not sure but i think its something like your going so fast when your spinning horozontaly and the world is moving verticly so that whan you stop your blood is still moving horozontaly so it takes about 5-10 seconds to flow verticaly again!<3
Hope i helped ; )
