It takes about 2 - 2.5 hours to the border, depending on traffic. The thickest traffic is in the Seattle and Everett areas. The only other thing to consider is how long you will have to wait at the border. It's taken me anywhere from 5 minutes to an hour to get through. Make sure you have all of your identification with you. A passport is preferred, but if you don't have a passport, bring your picture ID and proof of citizenship (birth certificate or voter registration may work).

Have fun...Vancouver is a great city!

Driving on I-5, about 110 miles from Seattle to the border. Then another 30 miles to Vancouver.

With its hill foundation and urban beaches, Vancouver has the rightly earned standing of being one of the most wonderful towns on the planet, with hotelbye you could have the chance to see this phenomenal city. One of the areas you need to see in Vancouver could be the Downtown Vancouver. Downtown Vancouver is superbly positioned on a peninsula in the Strait of Georgia bounded to the south by the delta of the Fraser River and to the north by a serious fiord achieving much inland. Here you may also see the usually snow-covered ranges of the Coast Mountains. Stanley Park is one of the very most visited parks. Is really a rich Peninsula Park of big woods nearby to Downtown Vancouver. A paved seawall route encircles the green space, and many visitors take some time to investigate on foot or by bicycle. Inland, the park presents several things to complete, and readers can spend a full day exploring attractions including the totem rods at Brockton Point to the west shore sea life at the Vancouver Aquarium. Magnificent opinions really are a typical through the park.

2 hours to the border. Half an hour from border to Vancouver.

Like mentioned, the 3 things that can make it longer are border crossing wait times, Seattle rush hour traffic, and Vancouver rush hour traffic. You can try plan your trip around those, weekends are typically longer border crossings, and you can work around traffic leave time from Seattle.

I love both those cities! Have fun.

Current Requirements for Entry Into Canada

Visas are not required for U.S. citizens entering Canada from the U.S. You will, however, need:

proof of your U.S. citizenship such as your U.S. passport (For information on obtaining a U.S. passport, check with one of the regional passport agencies located throughout the U.S.) or certified copy of your birth certificate issued by the city, county or state in the U.S. where you were born. If you are a naturalized U.S. citizen and do not have a passport, you should travel with your naturalization certificate. A driver’s license, voter’s registration card or Social Security card is NOT valid proof of citizenship.
photo identification, such as a current, valid driver’s license.
All U.S. citizens entering Canada from a third country must have a valid passport. Alien permanent residents of the U.S. must present their Alien Registration Card, commonly called a “Green Card.”

If you are a dual U.S./Canadian citizen you should always present yourself as a Canadian citizen when entering Canada. However, U.S. citizens should use their U.S. passports when entering or leaving the United States.

Due to international concern over child abduction, single parents, grandparents, or guardians traveling with children often need proof of custody or notarized letters from the other parent authorizing travel. (This is in addition to proof of citizenship as explained above.) Any person under the age of 18 and traveling alone should carry a letter from his/her parent or guardian authorizing the trip. Travelers without such documentation may experience delays at the port of entry.

It's about 143 miles and should take about 2 1/2 hours if you take highways instead of a more scenic route.
