Do they forget how to wrestle. I remeber when Batista was a "heel" with Evolution and could never win without help from Orton or Flair. Now he runs through everyone. Why do "heels" lose their ability to wrestle after they turn. Would just like some thoughts. And for all the jerks that may answer with "its fake", I'm grown and already know that so STEP OFF YOU LAMES!!

it can be used in 2 ways.
1. to get extra fans to see what they are going to do next. eg. king booker or hhh when he's a heel oh and jbl when hewrestled.
2. to give a characther a push eg. mr kennedy, spirit squad or randy orton when he was in evolution

I agree 100%, they have gone a little too far with the heel persona, just because you are a bad guy does not mean you lack the talent of wrestling all of a sudden, it's crazy, Edge is an awesome wrestler and every time he becomes heel, he's all of a sudden a coward and runs??? They can make a bad guy bad, and still be able to wrestle, a cheat here and there is one thing, like Triple H, where he lives under the gimmick of doing "anything" to keep his title, or get to the title, but they shouldn't have them cheat every time.

Yes, we all know it's fake, but the truth of the matter(in my opinion) is that it boils down to supply and demand. This is well correographed, very intense "entertainment" with some of the best performers in show business. If there wasn't the drama of the"heel" needing to eke his way through matches then there wouldn't be much of a storyline, nothing to provke next weeks battles. People need drama, it's what's sparks interest. It's what keeps people tuning back in twice a week, it's what keep people ordering PPV at $50 a pop and it is what has made Vince McMahon a billionaire. I wouldn't dwell too much on the Adversity on the "heel", just sit back and enjoy the show!

It only adds fuel to the fire of hating that particular wrestler. I personally enjoy it when a wrestler turns heel and cheats. Mr. Kennedy is one of the best of the newer guys at doing this. He reminds a lot of Ric Flair in his prime as far as cheating is concerned. Also, by cheating, the heel makes the odds of a face winning a fight a lot harder to even out. Of course, when the face gets a lucky break or pulls out of some type of predicament, the crowd only loves them more.

Thats not all the time. Monsters (Kane, Taker, Khali, Show, Umaga) often don't need to cheat to win but i agree with you. Anyway they do thjis because if they give a face a clean loss, then fans who believe wrestling is real, will lose alot of respect for this wrestler. WWE doesn't want that. I am kinda annoyed by this though. I want them to give a heel a clean, non-squash win.

It's part of playing a heel. The audience hates it when a heel beats a face through cheating- it just adds to the hatred.

They don't "lose" their ability to wrestle. Generally, a wrestler turns heel when he/she is frustrated by the inability to win a title. They decide to start taking the easy way and break the rules. (Which, is the basic definition of a heel wrestler, by the way.)

It's basically done to encourage more of a reaction from a crowd.

In general, its mainly used to establish the character as a heel. But I do agree that the outside interference cheapens it. The thinking is that if they were still dominant and did not cheat (use a weapon, distract a ref, etc) then the fans would cheer them.
