Or will their pool of talent always go to other sports?

Also, do non-Americans see America being good at soccer as a good or bad thing?

I believe so. In the not so near future some one will realize that there is a market out there in buying and selling players. European football is all about developing young talent and selling for profit later to the Big clubs. If some one or some group of people with enough money to establish a development program here in the US, were to do it, then the rest would take care of itself.

With the resources America puts into sports, America can produce world class athletes in any sport if sufficient develpment is put into place. The pool of talent goes to sports where the US domestic league is highest. Thats why you have Americas best athletes going into the NFL, NBA, MLB. Those are the highest paid sports and Americans want money without having to go to Europe. Thus, if MLS players start getting as much as the NFL, NBA, MLB; then, the popularity of the sport rises and the talent pool will go into it. If it doesnt then, yes the pool of talent will distribute to other sports. Non-Americans see US becoming good at soccer is a double-edged sword. US becoming good means more competition, which raises the level internationally as well. However, other countries may start to actually fear the US when they play in major tourney's like the WC which would anger them if they say their country lose to the US in it.

America won't have ever worldclass talent on soccer. the national team sucks, their clubs suck too.... Americans aren't interest on soccer, their life is football and baseball, and basketball.
Non Americans see American soccer as a waste of time, really the good players that the US haves should move to Europe cuz here they have no future.

I think america , in general, doesn't like soccer therefore we won't have a worldclass pool because nobody cares about it overall. I don't think non-americans care if we are good at soccer or not.

Sheer mathmatics suggests the US will produce many great players in the future. World-Class players come from all over the world not just cou ntries big on football. The US will also properly produce several good players at once a so-called 'golden generation.' Although perhaps that has gone with the 2002 world cup.
America are a fairly good team and i hope they imporve and football grows in the states, cos the incresaed fiances, etc will only improve the game!

I'm an american so i can't answer your first question but I would definitly say we are headed in the write direction with our football programs. Football is the fastest growing support in america right now. i referee football, coach football, and i am a trainer for a couple premiere clubs. The tallent i receive and referee each year gets better in better. right now all the right people are where they need to be and once the US gives Bradley the men's team under contract we will be a team to be reckoned with.

I'm a big fan of soccer but I'm afraid not. In other forgin countires that's all they play and do. That is why there are so good at it unlike the usa. Plus The U.S. sucks at sports outside of their own county. Such as the Olympic, WBC, and the world cup.

No I don't think it will become as popular in North America as it is in Latin America, Europe, and Asia. I wish it would become bigger here. But unfortunatley it has to compete with hockey, baseball, and American football. And in North America obviously we [ canadians, americans] will pick the other sports not football. Oh yeah by the way the rightful term is Football :)
