Try calling the customer service number from the software manufacturer. They can try to walk you through install. If nothing winds up working, or they have a known install issue ask them to send you a wrapped copy of the software, return the opened one to the manufacturer and then take the sealed copy back to the store. Worked for me with an EA game.

Take it back to the store where you bought it - you may not get a refund, but they will at least give you another copy of the game.
