How long do you think it will be before this war ends? Who would you like to see in office serving as president?

Miss Catherine ... I see you've already received some "genius" answers from people who probably aren't even old enough to vote, yet. Consequently, their poor answers are useless.

Let me give you a couple of clues as to what is likely to happen if Iraq falls to the control of terrorists. Did you notice how the price of gas shot up to OVER $3 per gallon last year? This was caused by speculative oil traders who were simply fearful of oil flow disruptions. Can you imagine what may have happened if there actually were significant losses of the world's oil supply?

Not all that long ago (the mid-1970s), the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) launched an embargo and refused to sell oil to the West. Gas stations often ran out of fuel, people had to line up at 3:00 in the morning for a chance to buy gas, and there was rationing, meaning there was a limit on how much gas you could buy and you could buy it only on certain days.

Now, go ask someone you know who's at least 50 years old about this time in our recent history. If the flow of oil were disrupted ... and this is a very likely outcome if the Middle East succumbs to terrorists ... $5 per gallon will seem cheap compared to the effect this will have on the market place. And things would only grow worse from there.

You've asked many questions ... and they're all good ones. But I hope I've addressed at least one of your concerns.

Please see the link below and scroll down to the section named "Immediate economic impact of the embargo." Read further to where it talks about rationing, etc. You'll be enlightened about the importance of oil in our economy, I'm sure.

Bush is human. Right or wrong, he did what he felt was right and he was elected, better or worse, by the people for the people. If people hate him so much, then run for office or find someone to run for you. We can't always have the person we want in office. I think Bush is a miserable speaker and has made some poor decisions, but he is still the legal commander and chief and head of state of our government. Many don't like how he obtained his first term, but he was soundly elected to a second term, therefore it is high time we stop bitching about what happened over six years ago.

As for the war, I think it will continue until we call it quits and leave, or do what is necessary to win. No one won a war by playing friendly. We don't have to cede the moral high ground. But maybe we should take some lessons from our victories in Germany and Japan and apply them to Iraq, we might actually achieve our goals (nukes aren't an option). Until one or the other, this war will go on and on and on.

I would like to see a new party formed, one that takes being an american to the center stage, a party that bridges the polar gap between the two current parties. I think this two-party state we live in is the out-dated part of our system. It's hard to vote for the "best guy for the job" when candidates too often play to their party base which tends to be either too left or too right.

Regardless of the hype and regardless of Bush, regardless of
WMD, regardless of oil, regardless of terrorism, etc. -
We wemt tp Iraq to get rid of Saddam Hussain and his evil kids.
Which we did. Many Iraqis that support our action are hiding in
their houses, fearfull of reprisals from the handfull of idiots. A higher percentage of people turned out to vote in their elections
than do in our country, in spite of the danger to themselves.
We still have many people in S Korea and Kosovo, etc. what
would make you believe that there is a time table for this war ?
Only time will tell if Bush was right or wrong, but support him
and give him a chance to play it out.

George W. Bush is just a man . Some people seem to think he can walk on water- and when he doesn't he gets blamed for everything from the weather to gas prices and for what the terrorists did on 9/11 . He takes the Oath of Office seriously and so he serves with honor and believes it is his duty to protect America and all we stand for .America saw the last man in office turn major issues of the country over to his wife-because he knew her love of power would allow him his indiscretions .The last man in office focused on golf tournaments and P.R. moments , smiling into the camera like your best friend - while the main man who plotted our country's destruction was refused capture by the man in charge-Clinton . We went to war to take the fight to them and prevent further terrorism , to us , and the Iraqi people . They appreciate it - why don't we ?

George Bush is an idiot who was elected because of his money. The only people who can be president are the ones' with enough money. That man never served his country and now he is running it. Doesn't make sense. I can't respect anyone who sends troops into war and has never had the nerve to fight in one themself. We are at war with Iraq because of oil. That is the real reason this war u-turned in that direction. Bush lost his oil company in Texas and now wants theirs. I would love to see anyone in office who makes a possitive difference for the people. There can never be peace from war. It is just not possible. Thank you and GOD bless.

I hate Bush because the only reason this war is going on is because he started it. He staged everything! He deserves to rott! Go to www.loosechange911.com and it will answer your every question. He is killing our soldiers for something he set up. I say bring our troops home, and send Bush and let him fight his own battle, ALONE!!!!
