Click on the link below and check out the article on council tax, this will then take you onto several websites which give you an up to date valuation of your property and your neighbours, and can give you a retrospective one as well. There's also a link to the the valuation office, on this you put in either the name of your local authority or your post code. This will show you what band your property is in and what your neighbours bands are, it then tells you how to appeal if you think yours is wrong.

Make sure that while you are on Martin's money tips that you subscribe to the weekly e-mail, so you will be ahead of the game when it comes to financial advice. I knew about this council tax issue last year through his advice.
