What about trying the glue that you can buy to fix cracks in your nails? It is very strong but not toxic like superglue. Sally Hansen do a nail repair product.

Sorry to hear, i have 3 african land snails, the best thing to do is to make sure it has plenty of cuttlefish, this will be good because the cuttlefish is to make the shell strong and bigger, the snail will repair its shell in its normal course of growth. new shell is created as the snail deposits necessary materials at the shell rim and any chips and breaks at the rim are therefore healed as and when the snail next grows. The snail must be misted with clean water more regulary as there is a risk of the snail losing moisture through the crack and therefore becoming dehydrated. hope this helps.

Put cuttle fish in the tank as it is a source of calcium . Don't give iceburg lettuce but say rocket, something high in iron as well as otehr fruit/ veg. Get a high calcium powder ie nutrabal, and sprinkle on food. If the bottom is glazed over at the base of the shell it could be hibernating to fix it's shell, but it would release goey bubbles for this. But it sounds like it may be dead - sorry.

Yes superglue will work but you need to be very careful n not use too much. one of mine had a good chunk fall out after being dropped by my friends daughter. i didn't know what to do at first i thort it was a gona. she was so upset i felt bad for her so i told her i would fix it. the snail was turning around inside the shell and sticking his head out of the hole so i knew it was okay. i glued it and stuck a plaster over it. it worked it went on to lay millions of eggs. i wondered if these eggs would hatch. so i left them in the tank. Beware i ended up with over 70 snails in 4 tanks they were fully grown by the time i managed to get rid of them all to pet shops n schools etc

get a sparkling bottle and scoop out a number of the water and bring it to a puppy save and ask them to purpose if for you. rotting snails might have tossed the waters stability off slightly. i could advise doing a partial water substitute and actual getting your water examined. in case you do the partial water substitute supply it a speedy together as earlier sampling your water.

please dont put any type of glue or filler on or in its shell, you will kill it. i had the same problem with one of my afican snails, i work as a vet nurse so the vet put a very sticky tape on it to pull the sides togather and hold it in place. but please dont try this as normal tape is quite toxic, if anything send him down to me and i will try to work my magic on him. my snail did recover but the shell has not been right.
