My hair strightening iron warns: Do not use while sleeping.

Funny, right? Yet drowsiness isn't the desired effect. The ideal sleeping pill would knock you unconscious as soon as it hit your stomach. Most have a lag-time, however short. Your motor skills and judgement are impaired, yet you're still awake....thus a required, legal warning to this side effect. Common sense vs legal responsibilities.....welcome to America.

Because the FDA, would be all over there but's if they didn't put the warnings and side effects that these products could cause!! Not to mention its to cover their own buts!! Because should someone try to sue them stating it caused them to miss work because it made them so drousy, they couldn't drive themselves to work, alls they have to say is, "It said on the label it could cause drowsiness" and you opted to buy our product anyway! so there you have it, its for liability purposes, to keep their companies protected, should problems occur!!

For some people, like myself, they don't work. They don't knock me out, they just make me a little less alert then I used to be. In this case, the warning was correct. It may have happened and it did.

same reason coffee says caution... contents are hot... or peanut brittle that says may contain traces of nuts... people are stupid and companies have to resort to stupidity to keep from getting sued because instead of telling these weirdos to get a grip... for some reason the legal system takes them seriously...

People sue at every chance they get. The companies are just protecting themselves. Remember the McDonald's hot coffee incident? Now coffee says "caution:hot."

Because if someone takes it, decides to get behind the wheel of a car, falls asleep and kills himself, his surviving family members can't sue. The company is protecting itself.
