Is there a differance in the body style between the 86 and the 87 SUZUKI Samurai. Or any kind of differance at all.

I think the 87's were made a little heavier due to the high rollover problems they were plagued with.

I don't think so. There were some changes on SJs when production switched from Japan to Spain, but I think that was after '87 anyway.

yes_it's_me is wrong - the '89 onwards Vitara/Sidekick/Tracker is a completely new model produced in parallel to the Samurai, not a replacement for it. They're completely different.

All Samarais from 82-88 had the same body and frame. There were some variations in engine sizes during these years, and there were two body styles, one closed and one open. Most were the open rag top style with hard doors. In 1989 the Vehicle was redesigned and renamed as the Suzuki Sidekick and Geo Tracker.
