LOL! Some guy said "go to control panel ...." DUDE! his computer is not showin him anything :P
If the beep is abnormal, then change ram.
IF its normal just take out the video card and clean its contact metal and plug it back in.

If you are unable to see any display when the computer is turned on and you are getting a post beep - you will have a problem with the video signal coming from the PC
Your computer will most proberly have a on board graphic's chip instead of a graphic's card(a chip that is built onto the motherboard) - during POST (Power On and Self Test) the computer will use the on board graphic chip so you get a display (a splash screen - usually saying the make of th computer ot INTEL etc etc) < if no display during POST then most properly a problem with the motherboard
One check - look on the back of the computer to see if there are any other socket in which to plug the monitor - if not then you motherboard will have to be replaced
Sorry
Instant Message me if you want anymore confirmation
Hope this helps to clarify

this could be the graphics card in your computer, so look for a new card.
failing that see if the card has worked loose
open your computer tower/ chasis and then identify the graphics card. if the card seems loose then try easing it back into its slot and trying again.
if that does not solve your problem then go to an online store and select a graphics card suitable for your machine.
the age of your machine may indicate that you have only PCI slots available for a GPU, which will affect performance when gaming etc.
the monitor staying on standby is a general indication that your GPU has power but is not sending out data.
sadly pc components do not last forever so you will have to replace them every three to five years on average.
good luck.
I hope thta helps point you to a solution.
if not try contacting tha maker of your system for advice.

If your screen is completely blank and you have tried another monitor then it would appear that the monitor is not receiving any video from the computer.Have you tried a different cable between the tower and the monitor. Some are built in to the monitors and some are not.If power is going to the monitor and you have tried all cables then it does sound like a video card fault.

The reason your monitor goes straight to standby is that it isn't receiving a signal from your graphics adaptor.
First of all, make sure your monitor is plugged into your graphics adaptor correctly. (Try unplugging it, and then reconnecting it.)
Then, I would suggest unplugging the graphics adaptor and reinserting it. If you only have onboard graphics, it may be time to see about buying a new graphics card, that slots into either a PCI, AGP or PCI-E slot. You'll need to be sure which you have as the cards are not interchangeable.

Assuming you are using Windows:
Go to Control Panel, click Appearance and Themes, then Display in the bottom window, then the tab Screensaver, then Power in the bottom of the window.
Put all the boxes to Never.
If this does not help, it is probably your power lead from the PC to the Display. If that doesn't help you probably have a fault on you Display Adapter card on the PC, change it or see a tecchy.

Abandon PC. Take up a sensible hobby and enjoy the rest of your life. Who cares about a stupid monitor?

The fault is definately with your video (graphics) card.
Replace the card then try again.
Good Luck!
