hi, i am muslim and a bit gay , i had a friend a gay friend through chat and we just were chat friends we broke up 5 months ago and again we are in contact he gave me his phone number and told me to call him , he said these things through chat , now what should i do? should i call him? i think i like him abit but don't know him , even his i don't have any pics, should i trust him ? we may get so close you know what i mean how can i make sur he doesn't have HIV ? i can't tell him go to a lab and give a test can i?

Well, no one is forcing you to have sex with this guy. It sounds like you are making the big leap from friends to sex partners without taking the time to get to know each other.

You can make sure that you are protected against HIV by taking the proper precautions. If you always have safe sex, it does not matter what your partner's HIV status is, does it?

Please value yourself enough to commit to always having safe sex. Always. Always. Always.

As for whether or not you want to call him, that's ultimately your decision. As for HIV, do try to get educated. Always assume your partner probably has it; always use a condom. As for asking him to get tested: you absolutely CAN ask that of him. Go together, get tested yourself even. You'll both feel a little bit better. That said, there IS a 6 month (in extreme cases more, but generally 6 is considered pretty safe) window period where HIV is transmittable, but will not show up in a test. So, I'd still ALWAYS use a condom.
