The spleen is an organ in the upper left side of the abdomen that filters the blood by removing old or damaged blood cells and platelets and helps the immune system by destroying bacteria and other foreign substances. It also holds extra blood that can be released into the circulatory system, if needed.

The spleen is a useful but nonessential organ. It is sometimes removed (otherwise known as a splenectomy) in people who have blood disorders, such as thalassemia or hemolytic anemia. If the spleen is removed, a person must get certain immunizations to help prevent infections that the spleen normally fights.

Splenic rupture permits large amounts of blood to leak into the abdominal cavity which is severely painful and life-threatening. Shock and, ultimately, death can result. Patients typically require an urgent operation. Rupture of a normal spleen can be caused by trauma, for example, in an accident. If an individual's spleen is enlarged, as is frequent in mononucleosis, most physicians will not allow activities (such as major contact sports) where injury to the abdomen could be catastrophic

I'm a Cena fan....actually I'm a WWE fan from the 80's. We(for the most part) KNOW half of the concussions, sprains, cracked ribs and ruptured body parts are fake. It's entertainment! If half of the crap they are "injured" with was real, most would be dead or vegetables.......when I buy a pay per view, it's because I enjoy the sport, not because my person's injury might cause them to lose and I need to watch and think happy thoughts to help them.

Okay, you know that most of the stuff on Raw is written... they have professional writers to add drama... it even says so on the wwe homepage. It's really not a big deal and the fact that it may or may not have been staged will not prevent anybody from being a John Cena fan. Maybe you should come to your senses and find another fight to fight because no matter how many facts you put on here, you're not going to change anybody's mind.

I just got out one of my old nursing school books not only are you right but he would need sugery which means he'd be in the hospital for a week or two afterwards,and couldn't wrestle for 3-6 months until he healed,the spleen holds your used blood peoples,which would poison the unused blood which usually results in death if not caught soon enough

Ok...so this is a made up injury....big deal! Do you all not know that Pro Wrestling is a semi-scripted form of entertainment? I know that these are real athletes...and that they put there body's on the line almost every night to entertain the fans of the WWE...but it is scripted out as to plot lines and this is just another plot line. As my wife says..."the WWE is just soap operas for men"

yes his injury is DEFF fake....its all written in so he looks like the underdog going into the match at royal rumble. when wrestlers do get real injuries...most of them actually finish out the match. triple HHH for example, joey mercurey is another one. and we all know mick foley does too.

i dont like cena i dont hate cena.. hes just there.. although i get tyerd of him.. hes like an overplayed song on MTV.....i think that other peoples matches should be longer.. more fighting less talking..... like mickie james has like 3 min matches! but they still are the best part of RAW... but i have nothing aginst cena fans.. i think its just there opinions...
