A very good friend was just diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. Any suggestions I may give him with a Biblical saying to comfort her?

First it would be very important to know if your friend knows Jesus as saviour. If not then they may not understand any Bible verses .
John 3:16 -For God loved the world(that's us) that He gave His only Son so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eyernal life.
and
Romans 8:28-We know that all things work to the good of those who love the Lord.

Footprints is a good Bibically based poem. I also recieved a little thing in an email about someone getting a F.R.O.G. which stood for Fully Rely on God. I thought that was pretty sweet!

Prayer is powerful - don't give up hope!

I suggest you give her a Bible and not try to pick it apart to fit your time of need. I'm sorry to sound cold. I'll pray for your friend. But, the Bible really should be taken as a whole and not sound bites to help us prove our point.

If you really want a suggestion for a great place for your friend (AND YOU!) to start, how about 1st John. It's short and it tells us that God loves us and forgives us.

" what GOD cannot heal, man need not attemp"Mary Baker Eddy.May God and his angles bless you both.

...yet will I trust him.

Job said this after God had allowed taken so much to be taken
away from him. In the end, Job triumphed when all was returned to him many times over.
Tell her to trust in the Lord, He cares and He will take care of her.
Blessings!

you can try going to a Christian bookstore and look for a book of comforting verses from the Bible..or you can look online..but a book of the verses might be a really nice gift for that person :)

Yes, "many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivereth them out of them all." "The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want any good thing." "By his stripes, we are healed", believe it and receive it today!
