More than likely, if nothing was wrong, then it was "round ligament pain." Pain from the uterus and ligaments stretching.

I would be pretty upset at my doctor if that happened to me and they didn't explain. Especially since she was having severe pain. Well, I had "uncomfortable pain" during my pregnancy and it was also my lower abdomen near the side. The doctor said that it was round ligament pain which is very normal in pregnancies. That could be what she has. It hurts more for some people than other, and it does no damage.

if the pain is real sever you should check with your doctor especially if it is accompanied by bleeding but pain in your lower abdomen is very normal. The placenta is attached to the walls of your abdomen but is not fixed it kind of floats but not freely. It is held where it is by tendon and ligaments that stretch as you and your baby grow. The pain might be more intense on one side or not igsitant on the other. It is perfectly harmless to you and your baby. Just think of them as stretchmarks on the inside that you can't itch. ALSO, because everything is moved around in there and cramped, gas can get really painful, I know this sounds funny but try lying on your back with your knees up in a sort of fetal position, it helps ease out that gas. Good luck!!

It's ok don't worry it's just the weight of your tummy pulling on your ligaments and when you put your hand under your tummy for support you don't pull the ligaments so it doesn't hurt. I know what you're feeling, I'm going on 33wks and I have to do the same thing other wise it is painful. It happens mostly to me at night when I forget and move to quickly. We only have a few more weeks to go, hang in there. Congrats :)

They're called Braxton-Hicks contractions. Not all women get them but they are normal. They're getting the uterus "softened up" for actual labor and delivery.
