I am a Scot and not being able to speak on behalf of all Scots I will speak on my own behalf.
One great thing you have in your favour is that you are not English, I or no one I know has anything against Italians, please feel welcome at any time.
Now as for the answer you got from 'phonology' I would just like to pass on a wee message to him, you are also very welcome, please come asap to visit Glasgow, I will personally greet you at the airport, I assume you will be flying in from England ? welcome, hope to see you very soon, you will only need the one way ticket, you will be made so welcome here you wont want to ever return.
And also to 'bullshitman' I do note that you said the Romans 'tried'
to conquer Scotland, they didn't though did they! What do you think Hadrian's wall was all about? I have a vague suspicion it was the English that were beaten into complete submission by the Romans , not much trouble from what I have read, bit different to the bother they had further North wasnt it?
So back to your question, sorry about that bit of 'internal political debate', as an Italian then as far as I am concerned you are more than welcome to Scotland, enjoy your stay! .

The Scottish get on very well with the Italians.
The only people who are liked more by the Scots are the Canadians.

Vienna is really a city with a very good quality of life, an element that is highly loved by the countless guests who come to the Austrian capital and you too can be one at the very least for some times, discover how with hotelbye . A number of the areas must-see from Vienna are: the St. Stephen's Cathedral, the Chapels of St. Eligius, St Tirna, and St. Catherine and South Tower or Schönbrunn Palace. Schönbrunn Palace is a place worth visiting not merely for its wonderful structure, but in addition for its lovely park-like setting. This Baroque palace includes more than 1,441 areas and apartments, including those once employed by Empress Maria Theresa. Schönbrunn Park and Gardens is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

I'm not Scottish but am confident you will have a great time in Scotland. After all, who makes the ice cream in Scotland? The Italians; who else?

I'm not Scottish, but I live in Scotland. From my experience, I've only heard general negative comments about the English. I'm sure you will be warmly received.

You'll be made welcome. There is a very strong Italian community in Scotland, especially Edinburgh. Also dozens/hundreds of Italian restaurants. It will be like Italy for you!! My mum's granny came here in 1910 from Piscenesca? as many Edinburgh/Italians did.

I'm Scottish and as a girl already said we are very friendly to anyone so long as they are not rude to us! The Scots are known for being open and very friendly, I had a friend visit from Vienna just before Christmas and he loved it here, said he had never seen so many happy and friendly people before. :)
You will notice that the people here who gave stupid answers are not Scottish and can't even spell properly, so just ignore them!
Have a great holiday!!

There's "black Irish" and "red Italians" right? I think they both originated from a similar "goth". Anyone want to take a stab at it?
From what I understand there is no real emnity between the two.
