It's fairly small.. but it's not too small. I'd go for a 15.4" (Widescreen) if you're concerned about screen size.

While it mostly depends on what you will be doing with it (and how good your eyesite is) there are some advantages to having a smaller screen.
Usually the screen determines the size of the laptop case - the smaller the screen, the smaller the laptop, which is good if you are going to be carrying it with you and trying to use it in various places.
LCD screens are considerably clearer than CRT's (monitors), and so you don't necessarily need them to be as large. Plus if you want, you can always put a CRT or flat panel on your desk, and plug the laptop into it while you are using it at home.
You can right click on the desktop of any computer and choose 'properties' and 'settings' which allows you to set your screen resolution - if your icons and stuff are too hard to read on the small screen, set the resolution to less, and it won't look quite as pretty, but the icons and text will become larger. Adjust until you are comfortable.

Depends on the user and the type of screen . If you want it for gaming then i would recommend a 17 inch screen but for work use , 14 inch is pretty nice , matter of fact 14 and 15 inch are the default lcd size for most laptops ...

14" is normal size for a laptop but now a days its considered to be too small. the newer ones have 16" and 19" screens.

It really depends on what you intend to do with the machine, how good your eyesight is, and the resolution of the display.
For example, for HD video editing or compositing a 14" display is probably insufficient even if it supports HD video resolutions. Most modern laptops with 14" have resolutions suitable for comfortable productivity/casual/gaming use by an average person and that's what most people do with a 14" laptop.
While there are laptops with larger displays on sale keep in mind that larger displays will sacrifice portability.

A 14" screen is one of the smaller sizes, however it has the advantage of being lighter if you are going to carrying the laptop around a lot.

don't go by screen...check if the keyboard area is comfortable for u to type.. i m not comfortable with small keyboard space, and its very important. Also smaller the size of laptop, more are the chances of it operating a higher temperature unless its a really expensive one with good heat dissipation.

Not at all, my screen is only 15" and is plenty big enough. It's down to what suits you.

Yeah!
Mine is a 17" Widescreen, it's so much nicer than a small little thing that you need a microscope to see =]

it depends on what your going to be using it for....
12' would be for college students needing to carry it around alot
then 14' i think would be mainly for any sort of business, photos, or watching movies...
