Daring? Exploitive? Realistic? Unrealistic?

I was told by my gays that it was very realistic. For example the secret relationship with "straight" men. Also, the aggressive sex scene.

I felt a bit angry that these men were hiding their relationship and dragging wives and children into the mix, just to save face in the community. But of course, it's difficult these days for gays to be open and not receive hell for it. So...I think....realistic.

I loved it. I found it both daring and realistic!
I loved the story, the acting and the entire movie. It was robbed at the Oscars. Crash was excellent, but Brokeback Mountain was better.

I use Sev as a nickname for Joseph because of the sound seph makes. The only name I can think of that would have Sev as a nickname is Severus. Also I sometimes use Mel as a nickname for EmMELine, when it would usually belong to Melody or Melanie. Others: Les for Charles, when its usually used for Leslie Mac for Cameron (Mac is Cam spelled backwards) when its usually used for Mackenzie or someone with a Mac___ last name. I love unusual nicknames, so I love borrowed nicknames as well. I think Jude would be a darling nickname for Julius, but as you probably know the nickname really depends on what suits the child.

Daring and realistic. Many people have to hide their true feelings because of prejudice and ignorance. I was very moved by the movie.

I think it was a good film. Not a GREAT film, in my estimation, but I don't think that there was a GREAT film last year.

Superb performance from Heath Ledger, proving that he's one of those rare performers who possesses the ability to virtually re-invent himself with each role.

A deserving winner in the Best Adapted Screenplay category on Oscars night.

it's a wonderful movie!

some people say it's just a movie about people cheating.
Back in those days, you could not be Gay. It just wasn't accepted. Imagine the torment of wanting to love someone and not being able to. I think it's great story. It's sad that those men went through their lives that way and one ends up dead and the other just a lonely old man.

It was a tragic love story (which I seldom watch anyway) and almost as boring as "The Bridges Of Madison County".

I thought it was boring as hell. We actually stopped the movie before it was over. Unfortunately, we probably stopped it right before it started to get interesting!
