How too you dry a coconut?

I want to dry a coconut so that it looks like a typical hairy brown coconut, But i pulled a coconut off of a tree and it's green and heavy, any tips?

That's the outside of it. Break off the green shell and the inside should be what you normally see in grocery stores. Just leave it in the sun and it wil dry up

or you could try putting it on a cookie pan and put in the oven
