Shadow people (also known as Shadow figures, shadow men, shadow beings, or just “Shadows”) are a supernatural phenomenon seen by some people. Shadow people are often described as a black figure or humanoid silhouettes. Sometimes they have been reported as having a misty or smoky appearance. The height of the Shadow people varies from very short, 3 feet tall, to the very tall, 10 feet tall. Shadow people are often seen by people who are suffering from sleep paralysis but this is not always the case. At times people have only seen these shadows in their peripheral vision.

Shadow People Origins.

The origin of the shadows is unknown but there are many ideas as to what the Shadow people are.

Some people say that they are only tricks of the mind or moments of mental illness. Those who see Shadow people while suffering from sleep paralysis may only be dreaming. Shadow people seen in the peripheral vision could really be anything including one's own shadow.

Some think that Shadow people should be grouped into Cryptozoology, and could be extra-dimensional creatures that sometime appear in our space. One such theory involves "shadow time" as put forth in the book "Liber Kaos" by Chaos Magician author Peter J. Carroll. Others think that they are ghosts that are searching for help while some that study the paranormal say that ghosts do not appear as shadows but will be seen as Orbs or apparitions of people. Often Shadow eyewitnesses that have a strong religious background believe that these shadows are demons and will recommend prayer for protection from the shadow. Many occultists contend Shadow people are manifestations of elemental, daemonic or infernal origins, most likely to be encountered following certain rites of ceremonial evocation. Some even believe that the shadows are actually extra-terrestrials that place the person in a state of paralysis for abduction purposes. One interesting theory is that they are manifestations of our own negative energies and the only way to get rid of the shadow is to rise above your fears.

I can't account for the validity of these photo's, but interesting nontheless:

I dont know if this would be catagorized as a shadow person but one night I saw a figure in the hall of a house said to be haunted.I stopped shocked thinking someone had broke in to the house and when I said "who are you" it turned and morphed through the wallI guess it was either a ghost or an entity from another dimension.

Shadow People - I have not had any experiences with them, however, I believe that they are the shadows of those about to die, they go to cemeteries and other places that the dead rest.
