like a lil bit of rock, i like some of the songs i have been heaing it because my boyfriend is white and i am exposed to stuff he likes and i actually like some of it, but you know how some black people can be about some stuff, its ok for whites to like hip hop/rap but it isnt ok for me to like some rock
what do you think???

Well I'm black and my bf is white and I too like , rock & roll, a great sex am I weird, I didn't think so. I understand what you mean, black people look at me weird too because of the music I like. They always have. When I was in h.s. they looked at me weird because I like Techno, and Aerosmith, Guns & Roses. But my bf (whos white) has always like hip-hop. I love hip-hop and R&B too. But I appreciate all kinds of music (except country, can't get into it). Right now I'm really feeling Meditation music and all my black friends think I'm crazy but I love it. It's their ignorance don't take that kind of negativity on. Rock Out!

It's ok to like rock or any other music for that fact no matter what color you are. Rock music has actually been influenced by some blues and other music that is normally considered to be what African Americans listen to. Plus that makes you open mined which is good. Don't listen to other peoples ignorance and follow what's in your heart.

I completely agree with you on everything you said. It is perfectly okay for you to like Rock. Nobody has the right to stop you but yourself. Now I am white, and I listen to some rap and there is nothing wrong with that. In my opinion, if anyone thinks only white people can listen to Rock, then you are a complete racist and should be ashamed of themselves.
Just listen to what you like to listen. Nobody should stop you.

The only person it seems to be weird to is you.
That is because you realize you are not a stereotype, either as specified by whites or blacks.
You are your own person, you like your own stuff and do your own thing.
All that going out with a white guy has done is maybe expand your horizons by hearing some new stuff you did not know was out there.
I like to visit friends from other places and listen to their local music,
My collection is now truly eclectic.

I dont think its wierd because honestly most of the rappers out there coloborate with rock bands and the rappers admit to liking their music as well. Who cares, skin color shouldnt express what kind of music you listen to, your personality should. Music is Music no matter what color person is listening to it. So I think you should just rock on!!!

don't get me incorrect i'm black and that i do no longer discriminate yet while your no longer mild skin, i does no longer date you. i'm no longer partial to dark adult males they only no longer as ideal because of the fact the lighter ones.
