You cant.

If the computer fails to respond to any commands the only solution is to remove power from it.

If your computer is freezing a lot. You should delete all of the Temp files, expand the paging file (if you have plenty of space on your hard drive) and run a full Check Disk.

A full Check Disk is run from Windows Explorer by right clicking on the C: drive and selecting Properties. In the Properties window click on Tools and click on the Check Now button. Check both of the check boxes and click Start. You will get a message that the Check cannot be run until you restart the computer. Click Yes and then restart your computer. It might take some time to run, but it will most likely fix your issue(s).

Take care,
Troy

you may have a virus, if you can buy a virus software program ( norton anti virus) and try to run that first , If control alt delete doesn't work to close out programs, if you press it twice, it will turn off or restart your pc. You may need new memory if your computer is slow as well. You may have too many programs on it. Look at your start up menu, disable items that don't need to open when windows loads. Also, run a system defrag to try to free up incomplete files, it is in system tasks. Here are a few ideas for you to try. You may need to go to micrsofts website and download some updates, or to re-install internet explorer.

If the commands you mentioned don't respond, your only real course of action would be to power if down using the power button, or disconnecting the power cord.

Try using task manager to stop processes; right click on taskbar, select task manager, then click on either processes or applications tab. There is also the option to "shut down".
