Almost every culture has different ways of using personal hygiene. I would like to know the middle easterners way. It's for a culture diversity project and this culture seems hard to find info about that type of subject. Y'all can also give me links to this type of info.

Only answer if you know. If you don't know then don't answer.

I don't even know why my instructor picked this personal topic anyway. She knew it was hard to get info about it. I bet that's why she chose it.

In most parts of the middle east like Israel, Turkey, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), they stay clean the same way we do here in North America. They wash their face with a wash cloth, they take showers and bathe. But the showers and baths probably look a little different, or probably not as fancy as how they look here. Hygeine is vey important to them, especially to the rich oil familes.

In the poor parts, like Iraq and parts of Iran, some people may not even have access to clean/fresh water, and they might have to get water from a pump in the ground, or they may have to use tap water, and they might only be allowed so much water a day.

It's a strange question! I'm writing this from the region, and like the rest of us, Middle Easterners shower regularly, take baths and enjoy using the latest French perfumes & colognes. Muslims always perform ablutions before prayer. Does that answer your question?

OK, this is really bad, but from what I gather from films Muslims (I know not all Mid East are for Islam) are very much against dirtiness so I think personal hygene is of the upmost importance.

Sorry, I know I wasn't suppose to answer but....

Type in "middle eastern hygiene" in your search engine, and see what comes up. Use Yahoo, Google, search.com/reference, or dogpile.com.

They take baths and use soap and shampoo like everyone else. They are very clean people - They are meticulous with thier hair, too.

You don't want to know. It's disgusting.

I heard that men do not use deodorant. And they wipe themselves after going to the bathroom with their left hand and no toilet paper.
