I'd try "The Beast Within" by Edward Levy
The Beast Within was one of the first, and creepiest, horror novels I have ever read. I snuck it form my sister’s book club collection when I was about 15 and I think I read it in two days. I have never seen anything else like it.

When I was in high school I read things by Christopher Pike. Some of his books are so weird and scary that I couldn't sleep without throwing the book under my bed.
I read a book called something like "Return to Nowhere" where a girl goes in for an abortion and when she comes out, there's no one left on the planet...except 5 people. Such a weird ending (I won't tell) I've read a lot of his books and I still remember some of them.
Also try R.L. Stine. Not "Goosebumps" thats for little kids. Kinda dumb to someone your age. His non-goosebumps books are really good and quite interesting. The stories are like scary teen movies (like Cabin Fever or Hostel or I know what you did last summer). Fun.

Old Stephen King books are always good. I loved The Shining best and I read it when I was about 13 (I read pretty advanced stuff at that age).

I work at a bookstore, and I go through a lot of books. Any of the Cirque du Freak series are popular with teens, pretty easy to read. "Coraline", by Neil Gaiman is also really good. The Wereling series is about werewolves, also very popular. "Sloth" by Robin Wasserman. Darren Shan's Lord of Loss series. My personal favorite - "Devil's Footsteps" by E. E. Richardson.
Good luck!

Stephen King is usually good. I also like Douglas Preston, he wrote the book for the movie The Relic.

some good ones are
the second time around
little girls in blue
nightime is my time.
any of these are good. if you want like a murder sort of story go with mary higgins clark, if you want more of a horror, go with stephen king
