no he is already lining up excuses.his greatest hope is that congress will stop funding the war so he can blame them.

Bush very rarely takes responsibility for failure. He will attempt to place the blame elsewhere, but I do not believe the American people are buying what he is selling anymore.

There are enough would be kings (and queens) meddling in Iraq that he has plently of places to spread around some blame, or at least plant the seed of doubt that he is to blame.
Politicians love to take credit when things go well, but rarely accept blame.

Of course he won't take responsibility. Failure will be placed firmly on the shoulders of those of us against this war (roughly 70% in the last polls). This President takes the "buck stops here" and I turn it right around asn send it back approach.
When you think about it he partly right. The roughly 48% to 52% that voted for him in the past two elections should be made to face what they have done.

1st let me say that I have been anti-war since 2003. If Democrats would just leave Bush alone and let him self destruct then when he is finally forced to pull US troops out of Iraq in 2008 he will only be able to blame himself for the whole mess of Iraq. Realistically speaking the Democrats won't be able to get US troops out of Iraq until 2008 anyway so why do they need to rip a severely wounded President Bush and let him use them as a scape-coat for the loss of war & make Democrats look like the bad guys?

He will still blame the democrats because they are against the war, even though he is "the decision maker in Iraq".

Bush will NOT take the responsibility. He doesn't do that. He will blame the "liberal media" before he will accept the blame for something he did.

He listens to others, but only seems to follow the advice of those who wholeheartedly agree with him. He does not seem to acknowledge failure, and label alternatives to his plans (and those who suggest them) as paths to failure. He doesn't realize that opinion-wise, it has already been lost, through the bad PR of the reality of how things have progressed. IMHO.

He already said he would accept responsibility if we failed in Iraq. But don't assume we are going to fail. No one can predict the future. The best thing we can do right now is hope for the best and expect the worst. You gotta have faith. America isn't what it is because we rolled over. It is what it is because we would not stop fighting. This country is what it is because of winning past battles and wars.
