Ok, I know it sounds stupid at first, but think about it. You put stuff in there to get rid of it, right. When you think of Recycling, you expect it to be used to make something else that is useful. So why is it called the Recycle Bin on the desktop?

I think it is because MS wants to sound less harsh and a little more green by calling it a recycle bin even though it is really a trash can. No one likes the idea of throwing things away... because then all of our files end up in the virtual land fill... and that isnt cool.

It's called the Recycle Bin because it's really a temporary placeholder for files you no longer want or need. You can restore them to their original location or delete them permanently from the Recycle Bin.

Well, when the makers of Windows wanted to copy Apple's GUI, they thought it would be a good idea to change the name for what Apple calls the "Trash Can".

I guess they called it "Recycle Bin" because you can return items in it back to their original location.

Because in the Recycle Bin it can still be restored and reused.

I don't really know, that is just my guess, and it makes since to me.

telephone Havering Borough and ask them what they do. people many times leap to the incorrect conclusions while it includes recycling, seems all and sundry is calling for an excuse to no longer worry. Councils could assemble and recycle your waste as they have objectives to fulfill. there isn't any way a Council can landfill all your recycling and meet its objectives.
