First thing to do is stop using a computer. Second, read a book. Third, focus on becoming the person you are, not something you're not.. Fourth, be happy.

I'm not sure where some of these people have gotten their definition of "Hippy". It was a social thing mostly anti-establishment, gentle and peace loving. Was characterized also by clothes, bell bottoms, bright, paisley shirts, flowing skirts and long hair. Music also played a big part. The older generation had never heard anything like we were listening too, then again neither had we. Also there were the drugs odd, psychedelic comics, light shows, black lights and day glow colors.
The people I knew were "always" clean and took pride in their appearance and hair. This might at times mean washing in gas station restrooms or at the train station if you were "on the road". Even though the clothing included patched jeans, they were most always clean.
I'm not sure what the group has evolved into to day, if any one like this even exists, maybe just the dead heads, but one needs to go back to the roots. The Wikipedia definition is pretty good.

Go to Golden Gate Park. Observe people on hippie hill. Imitate.
But seriously, just, like, wikipedia "hippy" and see if it fits you, and if it does, then hey, you're already a hippy. If not, then you don't want to be one anyway.

Why on Gods Green Earth would you want to become a Hippie?!
I, for one despise hippies;
Smelly, frisbee playing, dressed in rags, drum-beating, hypocritical, littering, food-stamp collecting, pot smoking wastes of air.
You are actively seeking to become part of a social disease?! Hippies today are more numerous than they were in the '60's, Just look at the turn out of their so-called "Rainbow Gatherings" for proof. (google it) I dont know why the government doest use these mass-hippie gatherings as a perfect opportunity for mass extermination.
"The largest Rainbow Gatherings are significant logistical challenges, providing up to 60,000 people with food, water, sanitation, medical care, and order in remote settings. Relations with law enforcement and local communities are frequently at issue. Media coverage often serves as a wake-up call, inevitably focusing on drug abuse, nudity, pan-handling in nearby communities (see the all too accurate post about Boulder, CO above*), and the counter-cultural aspects of the assemblage. Nevertheless, the Gatherings have proven durable phenomena for 35 years."
Hippies are a very real problem that can not be ignored.
Hippies (in addition to being plain repugnant) honestly believe that if all the world leaders could could just "smoke and groove" together, there would be no more war.
Yes, hippies believe they can solve all of the world's economic, ethnic, ideological and social ills with a pot pipe....This is completely unrealistic and totally out-of touch with reality.
The peaceful and non-blood shedding way out, (for argument's sake) would of course be to convince these vile beings to stop breeding. However, the amount of drug intake that this species seems to have, causes unforeseen hormones.
Therefore no matter how much you convince them that breeding is only causing more damage to "our" earth, they will inevitably get stoned and forget the precious planet that they defend when they are not stoned, (which is never); so they are even useless to their own cause.
When an organized group is bent on making radical changes, but can't even do anything but drugs....for 35 years!, I think there is a problem.
I challenge any poster (dirty, stoned hippie or otherwise), to demonstrate one_single (1) instance of positive impact on ANYTHING! (besides a buzz) that has arisen out of the decadence of the "Flower-Children Movement"
Do us a favor, and find something useful to do with your life!

I honestly believe that "hippy" is more of a mindset than anything else, if you need an instruction booklet on how to be one, I would say you aren't going to be able to adopt the mindset.
