It's difficult to be precise because some countries are not recognised by certain other countries as such. E.g. China considers Tibet to be a province of China, not a country in its own right (although it obviously is a separate country, but China's just greedy and was looking for an excuse to take it over!).
Plus, i'm not sure whether you would consider the UK as one country, or as 4 countries.
