Invest in parental control software like Net Nanny or Cyber Sitter. The instructions should be user-friendly enough that you'll be able to set up the software and find out what you need to know without too much trouble.

One advantage of using parental control software is that it can keep a record of what sites your kids have visited, even if they ARE knowledgeable enough about Internet Explorer (or whatever broswer you have) to clear the history, cookies, and Temporary Internet files.

When you start internet explorer just click on the history icon and it will open a window on the left side of the screen showing all the sites that they have been on.
One way of preventing certain sites click on tools (top of the bar when in explorer) it will open a box then click on content and it will allow you to control language nudity sex etc so as to prevent them from these sites. Without the master password that you will create they will not be able to open any of these web pages

Get a monitoring program known as a Keylogger. They will give you daily reports of their computer use. Some can phone or email you with alerts of their use.

Here is a very good pay program.
