When I was preggo I bought some things at Target. Also I found a local thrift store that had some great things. I gained about 80 pounds by the end, so I tried to but things a little big. It really helped so I didn't grow out of things fast. My maternity jeans were the best thing I had. They were comfortable and I could wear just about any top with them. Either dress them up a little or just wear a maternity tee shirt. I didn't go crazy spending, but I also was not working. If you are working then of course you'll have to have more things.

I bet there are tons of maternity consignment stores you could check out in NJ or NY. I've bought some maternity clothes on e-bay too. Motherhood Maternity is pretty reasonable. You can find maternity jeans there for ~$20. Good Luck.

Go shopping now...stores have left over summer stuff on sale, and some stores aren't that expensive. JCPenney's range from like 29-45 for a pair of jeans not on sale, K-Mart does maternity, Target jeans is around like 40...

Try eBay, they have a lot of people selling big lots of maternity clothes that are in almost perfect condition for what it would cost you to buy 1 outfit at a maternity store.

There must be some second hand stores who sell maternity clothing. Also another inexpensive outfit can be a pair of black tights (obviously I bought large when I was pregnant) with a long turtleneck or sweater. You can get several outfits with a few sweaters and tights. Plus they dont need to be maternity....

My wife looked into Goodwill and/or thrift stores. She found some nice and extremely affordable maternity clothing there. It saved us alot of $ from the overpriced maternity stores.

if u have a motherhood maternity store (at ur mall or something) then u can buy really nice cheap maternity clothes that are on sale. the nonsale items are a little pricey but the sale items are nice (sometimes under 20 dollars) otherwise try goodwill, salvation army, savers (if u have one) and walmart even but i think they are even a little pricey. target is okay if its sale otherwise its pricey too.

I would look for a resale shop in your area. You could also check ebay. A lot of times there are lots of clothing that you can get for a really decent price. Don't forget to add the shipping costs into the final price when bidding. I just got 14 pieces of clothing for a total of $35 on ebay. Good luck with your baby!
