I completely support the troops. They are dying so that I can sit on my a*s all day answering questions on Y!A. It doesn't even matter why 'we' are fighting this war, all that matters is that these people are WILLING to do it so we don't have to. People like that make me realize how selfish and spoiled I am. They are willing to die for me but I wouldn't do the same for them. I am NOT a fan of the government and I tend to be somewhat 'anti-establishment' but the fact that some 19 year old kid is stuck in a living hell, risking his life at every second just so I can continue to screw around and waste my life and complain that my coffee is getting cold completely blows my mind.

Yes, we should, but that presumes that the fight is in fact about freedom.
While the reason the soldier serves may be pure, the motives of those who choose his wars may not, and a given war may be less about freedom that about selfish interest.
Whether that is the case in the current conflict is a matter for individuals to judge.
But my question is this: can those who think the war wrong say so without being accused of disrespecting the soldier? Does supporting the soldier require supporting the war, or at least keeping silent?

Absolutely! I am against this war, but write letters and send packages to troops and families that have lost loved ones (especially young mothers)
I would say that more than half of celebs that do USO tours are against the war...
I know all politics are being put aside, but I don't think we're gaining any freedom from being in Iraq... if anything, we're losing it.... freedom of Iraqis MAYBE, but it's a big maybe.

I thought the question writer said "All politics aside", anyway.
YES. Anyone who is willing to defend, and sometimes die for, another is worth supporting.

What is the point of this question? Are you hearing people run around saying "screw the troops!"?
Of course we want to support the troops. The administration doesn't seem to want to since the soldiers are still unsafe and unprotected and will be with the new surge.

I definitely think so. It is a noble cause to defend our freedom, and I will support them regardless of whatever the cause may be.

Yes. I support every troop that is in a bad situation. This however has nothing to do with the fact that DUBBYA is an idiot and we never had any right to be there.
