If it was mine, I'd try a bit of rubbing alcohol and a soft cloth. It should clean without hurting anything.

There is a product called 'goo-gone' that is great for removing sticker gunk without damaging the finish.

I use it to get old stickers off of my guitars. It has an overpowering orange smell, but it works fantastic!!

Lighter fluid will do the job ... I use it often on old PCs to do exactly what you need.

Pour some on a cotton cloth (never directly on the PC) and rub away. It may take a few sessions but you will be amazed at how it does the job with no corrosive damage to the PC surface whatsoever.

Isopropyl Alcohol, or Petroleum Distillate (used to refill zippo lighters) and a cloth.
