First ask yourself these questions:
1. Are you ready for a child now? You do have until at least 40 before you start running out of time.
2. Can you afford the child - financially and time-wise? If you are planning to stay at home, can you afford to not earn the money? Will you be able to save enough for the child's future? If you are planning on continuing work, will you be able to be home for a while when the child is awake (so you can interact with him/her)?

That depends on a lot of things. Are you going to a sperm bank, is there a boyfriend involved or are you going to cut one from the heard for a one night stand. More importantly are you in a position to be a loving and available single mother? Do you have both the family and finances to support you through the early months. I say early to middle 20's is a good time if you're ready in all aspects...single or not.

You still have about ten healthy years in front of you. If you don't think you're financially or emotionally stable, then it's safe to wait a while longer and ignore your biological clock. However, if you're in a stable relationship with steady income, why not go for it? 26 is by no means "too young" to start having kids by today's standards. You have to do what's right for you, and most importantly what's right for the baby. Usually younger moms say they have more energy to take care of their children, but older moms say they have more maturity. You're probably right in the middle, but closer to young than old. Just do what feels right, and do what will be good for the baby. Good luck!

A friend of ours was forty and had a healthy set of twins so you have lots of time.
Before you decide to run out and get pregnant, for the sake of the child, be sure you are financially stable and in a stable, loving relationship first. Don't bring a child into the world if your not stable yourself, it will only leave you bitter and resentful.

I don't think you are running out of time to get pregnant, lots of older woman are having babies now so I don't think you have anything to worry about. Don't have a baby until you are ready

I am not a doctor, and I don't play one on TV. However, I think that you've got lots of time. My wife was 32 when our son was born. This was her first pregnancy, too. Your doctor will probably tell you that (assuming you're healthy, don't smoke, exercise, all that stuff) he won't worry until you're at least 35.
