Labor unions: Good or Bad?

I've never been in one, but from the experience of some people I know who have been in one and from previous experience as being affected by a couple of union strikes, My opinion is that they're a bad thing, although they look like a good idea from afar.

In small doses they can be good. But, they can end up being as abusive as the corporations that they are fighting against. In the beginning, their cause was just. But, after they've won so many victories, they start to become unnecessary and then exploit the worker for the union's continued existence.
