I would suggest that you refrain. But, I would ask yourself what benefit will this bring to the interview. Are you trying to show some type of skill that can only be expressed in this manner?
Either way, I would not recommend wasting your time with the HR Rep (unless you are interviewing for an HR position.) If you feel very adamant about using a power point presentation, wait until you are meeting with the person who is going to hire you or that you are going to work for.

Trying to hijack the interview with ur PPT wont do u any good. Instead, give a brief outline of your project to your interviewer, and if the person seems interested, ask him if he/she would be interested in seeing a PPT that u have about it. Dont insist on showing it just becoz u've prepared it, but see if the interviewer is interested in it. Most people would like to interact with u and know how you tackled problems that u faced in ur project rather than hearing to your streamlined ride thru your project. But well, if the interviewer is interested, it may turn out that he/she gets a good opinion on you that you have come well prepared for the interview, which may help you gain an edge over others. Jobs in academia (as a professor) often require a "job talk" or presentation as part of the interview process.
Your presentation is usually either about your current scholarship (your dissertation if you have not published yet), or it is a "sample lecture" for a course you would teach.
In any event, you must speak to the chair of the search committee about what precisely is expected. Any deviation from their expectations will cost you that job.
