Reports indicate that use of anabolic steroids does indeed increase lean muscle mass, strength, and ability to train longer and harder. Many health hazards of short-term effects are reversible. The major effects of anabolic steroid use include liver tumors, jaundice, fluid retention, and high blood pressure. Additional side effects include the following: for men shrinking of the testicles, reduced sperm count, infertility, baldness, development of breasts; for women growth of facial hair, changes in or cessation of the menstrual cycle, deepened voice; for adolescents growth halted prematurely through premature skeletal maturation and accelerated puberty changes. Researchers report that users may suffer from paranoid jealousy, extreme irritability, delusions, and impaired judgment stemming from feelings of invincibility.
NFL defensive end Lyle Alzado died from use of performance enhancing steriods and the drugs are part of the reason Mark Gastineau left the NFL.

I can address this from a baseball fan point of view. Baseball is a game of numbers. There is no other sport in the world that holds its records in such high regard. There is no other professional sport that has records dating all the way back to the end of the 19th century. Only in baseball can you compare a player's stat who played from 1890-1910 with a player who played from 1980-1990. So if the person who played in the 1990's was taking steroids then it was bolstering his stats, and you are no longer comparing man to man but man to science. When I look at players like McGwire and Bonds I want to see how they stack up as players against men like Ruth and Gehrig, not how much science has improved since Ruth and Gehrig played.

It is teaching young players to cheat. And plus it is very harmful and can cause very serious long term effects. The sport needs to be as even as possible and it is not fair if a player has a unfair advantage because they are being paid to play. So basically if it was allowed, i dont think it would be right.

If "excitement" is all youre looking for, rather than raw talent, then you shouldnt be watching sports.
Guys are using a artifical, unnatural substance to get an unfair edge over other guys who are relying on their naturally given gifts to play.
Its Cheating. Its dangerous. It defeats the purpose of sports.
Its clear you dont get it.

i imagine it has some thing to do with getting tens of millions to play an elementary recreation and then having a astronomical ego. i have seen diverse events figures which couldn't provide their followers--who're those that help them and circuitously pay their salaries, the time of day even as attempting to get an autograph. Plus there is not any loyalty anymore from the gamers, it is all money, money, money and me, me, me! the similar old joe only can't relate to them anymore.

Because steroids are ARTIFICIAL substances which destroy health.
In my opinion I say that even if a competition allows you to use steroids you I advise not to do it.
