I actually do security in a haunted artsy-fartsy rental theatre. The guy died falling off the catwalk of the main stage back when the building was being constructed. That was 17 years ago and the overnight guys always have stories about George. Even I've had experiences with him. Most of us have grown used to him because we've accepted him, accepted the fact that there are ghosts, and, we think, he's accepted the people who work there. Sometimes, whenever we do our patrols, we get this protected feeling every now and then. Our new pet project is talking to him to see if he can scare the hell out of the snobby-as$, rich people who thinks they own us whenever they rent out the place. lol

I've seen a ghost in my room before. I heard a knocking coming from my closet, it was open, and there weren't any pipes, it was winter so it wasn't a bird on the roof. Then, I saw it, it was odd shaped, like the size of a child. I couldn't tell if it was facing me or not, it didn't have 'shoulders' if it was or a 'nose' if it wasn't. It was black, and fuzzy towards the edges. I looked at it for a moment, told myself it was the back of the computer chair and went back to sleep. I don't know why I told myself that, it was too big to be. I also don't have a computer chair anywhere in the house. Just recently I found two slash marks above the head of my bed, one red, and one black. The red one is almost and inch, the black is about two. Nothing ever happened in my house. The last people to live there were an elderly couple, they died in a nursing home or maybe in the hospital. It's probably 70 years old. But nothing happened here.

I think of a ghost as residual energy left behind by people who lived somewhere. It is like a tape playing again and again, they aren't beings that are aware of what is going on, just an impression left behind.
My mother-in-law lived in a house that was built on land where an Indian massacre had happened in the late 1700's. She had had several experiences with ghosts appearing to her when she was young.
My father-in-law also lived in a house where a murder/suicide had occurred. His kid brother had an "imaginary" friend who was a little boy. It was a little boy, his mother, and his father who had died in that house. They often had strange things happen like doors opening and closing on their own, and things going missing. They even nailed a door shut once that they wanted closed and woke up the next day to find it standing open and the nails lying on the floor in a neat pile
Spooky!

I absolutely, without a doubt, believe in ghosts. Not that I've ever had an encounter, but I believe that many people have. When I'm a ghost, I'll do really annoying things...like hide my hubby's car keys.

Try taking a walk through the Winchester Mystery House in San Jose,Calif. My parents And I went there back in the 80's and we were the last in the tour group when my mother and I felt something "Breathing" down our backs/necks.My wife and I just recently went there and my wife "Saw" ghost everywhere of people killed by the rifles that Winchester made.Spooky place indeed. The Hearst Castle in Southern Calif. is another place that will make the hairs on your neck stand tall. Also The Black Diamond Mines in Antioch ,Ca. is another place I've experienced spirit's-particularly ,The White Witch-scared the hell out of me one night near the graveyard. She just appeared in front of me and that was it.That was the last time I went up there at night time by myself!!!!

i do believe

in may of 2006, my 20 yr old brother and my only sibling passed away right here at the house, every once and a while when i'm walking from my room to the bathroom or from my mom's room to the lving room i'll see an outline of what looks like a person.

also my grandmother of whom i never knew because she passed away before either my brother or i was born, i would spend the night at my granfather's house only to be woken up my the faucet running, sometimes the water running sometimes it was just the sound, i would also wake up to noises of someone going up the stairs but noone would be there

OK I have a few stories but the one that freaks me out to this day is when I lived at my mother in laws house with my boyfriend and my son. We had dinner and drinks with a friend and my bf went to drive her home. I asked him to bring the laundry basket up to our room when he got home. about 20 minutes later, i heard the laundry basket drop in front of the door, and the bathroom door close. So a few minutes goes by, and I hear all kinds of noise coming from the bathroom. So I yell his name...no answer. This goes on for 10-15 minutes. Fianlly I get up, open thr bedroom door just in time to hear him open the front door, and walk in. I asked if he was just getting home and he said yeah sorry it took me so long, I stopped at the store!! So needless to say, I was freaked out for a few days. I was the only one home and they're was definetly someone in that bathroom!!
