I have to disagree with 'I'm a killer' because these people happily come into politics pronouncing they are going to change the world! Reid started off by slagging off the Home Office as 'not fit for purpose' the implication being the staff were incompetent. It's a feature of Reid's political career that whatever has happened in,Health,Defence or now the Home Office it's never his fault. The man has had seven major political offices in ten years and made a complete hash of every one. The only reason an incompetent like him is kept on is because he is a major Bliar ally. They'll be snow in Hell before he resigns.

I think you and the rest of the British public need to get a grip.
Reid is not responsible for the various ****-ups in recent times by the home office.
It's like when a manager gets sacked because the players are being lazy..
The individuals who's responsibilities it was to deal with some of the co.ck-ups should be made publicly accountable.
We are all too quick to point the finger at the people at the top. If more individuals who have direct responsibility for a role are blamed for their own messes, then they're would most likely be less screw ups.
It's like all these crims who arent in prison, they commit crime because there is not deterrent (because of lack of prison space..), just like civil servants who fuk up because they dont care or cant be bothered because after all the managers will get the blame..not them.
As for the "not enough prisons" scandal, well, im torn on that one, I think it has more to do with the guy who holds the purse strings (brown) than Reid. Maybe Reid could do more publicly to to put pressure on Blair/Brown to fund new prisons, but then I suppose that means more tax...and who wants to pay that?
People need to wake up and blame those directly responsible. It's neither fair nor productive to keep pointing the finger at the top.

In fairness, an inflatable dart board could be very useful if you fell out of a boat.

no he doesnt need to resign but the home office needs re-organising as they are far too stretched for any one department. They take care of Immagration, Passport control, Policing amongst many other things. If they seperated these functions, each department could then focus on one area and we would see some improvments.

I can also see him becoming Prime Minister at the next general election because he is a dangerous man. Brown is trying to distance us from the US and this won't serve the Neo-Cons agenda
Either way, we are all screwed

We should oust the whole rotten lot of them, they are constantly lying to us. And yes sir he should, but then again he is not a man of honour so he knows no different.
