Emotional.
It makes mathematical sense... Emotional pain can manifest itself as physical pain, also (headaches, stomache aches, tiredness, etc.). Physical pain is just physical.
E=P and E=E
P=P but P (not equal to) E
Therefore, emotional pain is greater.

I would say emotional pain is worse as physical pain at least with physical pain u know it will stop one day,at least the most of the time....If u are hurt,deeply hurt that can have a lot of consequences in your live,like u loved someone,u truly loved and u got deeply disappointed than u wont forget it and if there comes the next person who is maybe kind and has a truly good spirit and does really love u than u will still remember how hurt u got the last time and in this moment the new person doesn't get the chance to really get to know u because u hold things back just because u could get hurt again so I think that u often carry emotional hurts with u for the rest of your live and a lot of the time they will be in your way to a (maybe) better life.

They both hurt, but to different extents. If you get physically hurt, and it leaves a bad scar, then you have to deal with that in your own way. When you get emotionally hurt, your heart and psyche have to deal with that, for a long, long time. But you can get help with that through counseling. So, I don't like to compare these two but I guess I'd have to say the emotional is worse.

I've experienced both. I don't understand how someone can say that physical abuse hurts less. With the physical you get both outer AND inner wounds. You are not only hurting from the actual beating, but also the inside hurts from your heart being broken that someone you love could do this to you. I would say physical.

I rather get hurt physically cause the time to heal is shorter than it takes to get hurt emotionally. It could become mentally sort of things, hidden inside yr subconscious, have side effect in the future.

I would rather get hurt physically. It may hurt for a while, but it heals much faster than emotional hurts. I know from personal experience (at least the emotional hurts). Emotional hurts can take a lifetime to heal.

That depends on how you measure hurt. Consider that emotional harm can utterly destroy a person and their family converting their lives to misery. But a tooth ache certainly can hurt more.
If you are talking about greatest harm verses the greatest pain I think the emotional aspect is the greatest.
But emotional harm is rarely an emergency. A lifetime of hurt is considerable, but this may never reach the intervention level. But after you lined lives up and looked at them objectively we may reexamine this.

I would think any type of an emotional hurt would be more hurtful to a person than a physical wound just because a Dr. can't help you with an emotional wound.

My first love did both and u know what...Id take the physical over the emotional anyday. Physical ones heal, emotional we dont control.
Its a whole diff feeling when the one who is supposed to protect you hits you...the physical pain isnt there but your heart hurts...because you cant take the emotional blow.

physical pain.
there are people with chronic life long pain. no not all physical pain goes away. ask anyone with fibromyaglia! it hurts like there is no tomorrow and it NEVER goes away. you have it forever with no known cure or real treatment.
saying that physical pain goes away is insulting to those who die from it. ever see uncle joe die from cancer? if F*CKING hurts! in fact, it hurts so much that the strongest opiate can't stop the pain! give a boohoo crybaby a prozac, tell them that they are special in the world and everything will be hunky dory!
psychological pain is very easy to get over. note the key word in my statement...'get over'...most people suffering 'psychological pain' need to hear two words 'buck up'. stop whining, stop being a p*ssy, stop focusing on yourself and thinking that you're the only one in this world. it is not all about you, you, you!
btw. my major was psych!
