I've always had really soft and good skin, a break out here and there, usually during my period, nothing serious.

Lately my face has felt rough and bumpy, but the bumps aren't showing up it's just rough; especially on my cheeks and under my nose. and my forehead; mostly on my cheeks though. Sometimes when I wake up in the morning my face is so dry it hurts.

I've tried some products but nothing works, just seems to make it worst.

Any suggestions would be great. Thank you in advance!

Everybody gave great answers so I'll let you all vote on which one was the best :)

For starters, I would contact a dermatologist. That said, I have started getting extremely dry skin myself. Not painful, but dry, flaky white shin. I bought Nivea wrinkle reducer, and it has helped considerably. It seems to reduce the wrinkles, and it moisturizes wonderfully. Good luck.

My dermatologist recently put me on amLactin 12%. The stuff is amazing! It burned a bit the first week but it took off all that rough sandpapery skin and tiny bumps within days! It's not a prescription, but it's not with the regular face stuff either . You have to ask the pharmacist for it. It's about $10.

Our skin is a semi-permeable membrane, which allows water to go out from the body or to come in the body. While swimming in the salt water, the salt concentration inside your body is lower than that on the outside. This causes our body to eject some water. This increases the moisture in the skin and remains until it is evaporated.

Your skin uses two ingredients for oiling and softening it. They are water and oil that makes your skin more permeable in different ways. The word “moisture” refers to various combinations of these two types of skin components. When you swim vigorously below any water for a long time, it makes your skin dry. Salt water scrubs away the skin oil.

Use Cetaphil face lotion. it's great. I have bad dry skin myself and i use this when it gets incredibly bad!! My dad even uses it and he actually has a skin disorder that causes cracked skin, etc. Works!!

Maybe you are developing a skin condition? I would go see a doctor, just to be sure.
