Do you get static while adusting the volume up or down or when you touch the volume control? If this is the case, try to clean up the volume control or look for loose connection. If static come up when you increase the volume then the speakers diaphragm might have a tear and there no other way to remedy the problem but to replace your speaker.

Try to use an canned air cleaner to blow off any dirt from the connection and from the speaker itself.

Good Luck!

Set the volume control to the loudest you want to hear then use the computer volume slider to change volume.

Most control dials have a metal contact that rubs against a thin carbon backing and they wear out mechanically causing the static. Replacing the control would cost several times the price of standard PC speakers. You would need to take them apart, cut the control wires, identify and buy an electrically and mechanically compatible device, and solder it in place and put it all back together.

If all else fails, restart your computer. many cases even as switching between my audio equipment and usb headsets the courses i exploit will attempt to modify the sound settings from Default to regardless of particular gadget i'm utilising (USB). an elementary restart would fix this. it ought to also be an IRQ or I/O manage conflict, yet pondering it handed off without caution I heavily doubt it (nor ought to I attempt to stroll you by ability of placing those up manually.)
