Alright, I have been doing fashion design and now Im thinking that I will take it to the next step, I am thinking of actually selling my clothing to a more wider variety than just my friends, Im thinking that I will rent a space at a local market and sell the clothing there? Think its a good idea? Anyone got any idea how much its might cost in a space like a flea market? and has anyone done this before? was it hard to keep up with customers?

Make some flyers hand them out in a week advance, pass them along, in the mall, supermaket, etc....
Have a Grand Opening, give the first week customer a little discounts, that will attract more too come......
Try to have a logo on the cloths and bags....
Another thing don't have many of one design,

As for rent i can't say, a friend of mines start a bath suit shop 5yrs ago and now make a killing........

You will make money, good luck

It depends on the city where the flea market is located. In San Diego its about $25-85 per day (Saturday/Sunday). The booths are cheaper in the back. More customers see the booths in the front.

I would try putting ads in the newspaper and Craigslist and try to sell things on eBay.

It is a good idea if the clothes are good. Invest in a boot close to the front row (approximately 60-70 up to 90 $, variable, depending on the area you live), make some advertising, and go for it ...
