I think you should go for it! Prove those people wrong, the rescue squad is a very worthy goal, gather all your courage and inner strength and do whatever it takes to show those people that you can do anything you set your mind to. GOOD LUCK!!!!!

Only you know what you are capable of doing. Don"t listen to people with negative advice. If it is your dream, go for it. Believe in yourself. I always told my sons, there is nothing you can't do, put your mind and heart to it and go for it. Good luck to you. Show those around you that you can do it. You will never know unless you try. When you try, your never a failure.

First, Think about why you are doing it. If you are doing it because you feel you want to help people, then go for it, you won't know what you can do if you don't try. If you decide to do it, give it 100% effort, it can make the difference between going home and not.
