It's nearly 30 years since Lennon was murdered, and is the world any closer to acheiving his dream?....'Imagine all the people, living life in peace, ...you may say I'm a dreamer but I'm not the only one...''

If anything, I think the world is getting worse...what do people think out there? Will people of the world join together, and finally 'live as one' as Lennon so beautifully put it? Or will it always be just a dream...

John Lennon is incorrect to point that wars are brought about by potential of religion. maximum religions i understand of promote peace and love, this is in uncomplicated words twisted those who say religions reason warfare. Jesus Christ can allow you to already know more effective about that than John Lennon. study the Bible. It says "Thou Shalt no longer Kill" all people who claims to be a Christian and commits a homicide or begins a warfare interior the call of "God" is a LIAR and not in any respect a member of any faith. technology will not in any respect replace faith. Scientists once theory the earth change into flat... the large Bang idea is basically yet another idea. I not in any respect spoke of it, so why might want to i trust that any more effective than i trust Genesis?? the reality is that no individual truly is conscious. in case you've faith in love, once you do not forget that God is love, to point a international without faith, without love, is preposterous. A brotherhood of guy is an exceedingly patriarchal proper. How about a siblinghood of all people?

How long have humans existed for now??

I am not sure, but Its a good few thousand years and throughout all of this we have never lived in peace, its not what we were designed to do.

Look at how some animals and insects can live togeather happily but how some can never be kept together without fighting or killing eachother.
It's just nature.

i liked yr quesitio nand it should provoke many answers - i am a writer and agree with you and mr lennon- lets get rid of religions for a start learn to love one another regardless of skin place or difference- i dont know it is a hard question-
here is a poem i wrote i think it may have soem resonance with yr question- good luck with it- take care

MOMENT OF LIGHT

the world turns
people stand still
stare from suburban windows
looking for a sign

the trees wait
eyeing the chainsaws
splinters and papyrus
guide our todays
as shopping malls and stainedglass windows
bring us to our knees

bring us to our knees

religion the new race
followers are easy to replace
so belong or be gone
a poppy flowers in spilledblood silence
but still shakes at the sightlesssight of such violence
as taleban lords harvest opium crops
to numb the masses
like bloodless crucifixion upon wooden crosses
and bush declares god is on our side and blair expects significant.....................losses

so.

today
i have become a born again

atheist

i pray for prayers to be abandoned
mosques desserted, synagogues closed, churches morphed into poundshops
and the congregations will commune with one another
talk with one another laugh with one another
could this be how the shelling stops?
on a tiny piece of earth with no ownership manual
no ritual no prayerline 0800 number no jihad no them no us

then they shall be saved
from a lifetime of waiting
because
the verb is more important than the noun
hey
oh, mighty father?

No. Listen to the news on the radio, watch it on television, read it in a newspaper, what do you think? People are too influenced by religion and nationalism, fear and prejudice, intolerance and selfishness. Too many people hate and fear difference. There too many barriers to a peaceful world where love is valued above power, and too few people working for change, (peacefully). Reality has always been harsh.

The world will never be in peace because people never learn and human nature never changes.
