The cup size is the actual size of the breast.
A 38C, for example.
The 38 is the measurement around the chest plus five if the measurement is an odd number, and a plus four if its an even number.
Then you measure around the boob at the fullest part and round to the nearest whole number. a one inch difference is an A cup, 2 is a B cup, 3 inch is a C cup, etc

It's basically how many inches the breast sticks out from the chest. I believe that D is 4 inches, DD is 5, and DDD is 6 (these are the sizes the women in my family wear, so I only know these)
It also depends on what size band you have, which is the circumfrence of the chest. For instance, you would add fewer inches the smaller the band width... starting from >32", 34-36", 37-38", <40"
For example a D cup on a 38" band is a C cup on a 40" band and a DD on a 36" band.

Cup size is the spherical shape size of a breast, 'A' smallest to larger, "B"', "C", "d "....
Numbers is chest cavity size as you me assure it around the chest, as measured slightly under the two half spheres.
Example 36 -C or C-36
Some use dual numbers. D-36 or C-38 this will fit a person with
1. D size cup and 36 inches chest measurement.
2. Also fit a person with C size cup and 38 inches chest measurement.
But it will not fit a person with other then this two sizes.
Cup size is tricky to find from brand to brand but chest size can be very accurate to measure.

Breast cup size is the letter in the size. It refers to the actual size of your breast. The number refers to the circumference of your chest. A is the smallest cup size (not counting training bras) and the size gets bigger as the letters progress in the alphabet.
