I have no idea what community you are living in, but in mine, no one has to be perfect.... in fact, perfect is somewhat intimidating to many people. And, when push comes to shove, I would rather be the prettier one in the bedroom! Someone has to be, so it might as well be me! (and it almost always has been...so what! it isn't looks that count in bed, it is pleasure and what is given and taken.) Actually, many guys are turned off by men that are too good looking. You look like a guy that spends a lot of time in the gym...I do too. but, I spend it there for ME, not for others to oogle at me. I actually like having a good build, etc. Without a bunch of gym work, it is good enough to get anything I want....if you really think that you have to be "perfect' to get what you want in the gay world, you really need to step back and take a better look at what is going on around you. Who in the hell would want anyone who's values were only "how good does he look?"

I don't feel any pressure to look perfect, I mean when I go out I do try and look MY best. I also never feel mentally abused in any way. My friends are my friends because of common interests, because we care about one another, because we have created a history together. My friendships last decades not seasons.

Some are. In a similar vein, there are straight men who feel somehow entitled to their view of a beautiful woman sex-object, and they do the same. I don't think that we have a bigger problem than the dominant culture, although the reasons for our problem are probably different than the reasons for theirs.
