Pregnancy destroys brain cells! It's a little known fact. Not scientifically proven but all the Mom's I know agree.

I think it's just God's way of getting you used to having to deal with your new "distraction" that is coming. You've got to get into practice so you can feed the baby, answer the phone and fix a cup of coffee all at the same time!

With my 2nd I attempted to burn the house down 3 times! So for kids # 3 & 4 I just learned to completely manage my tasks so that I didn't have to do more than 2 things at once while pregnant! My husband also filled the house with fire extinguishers and only let me use the microwave during the day when he was gone! LOL

I'm only 6 weeks and I swear I became stupid over night! The semester just started at school and my first day I sat in the wrong class for 2 hours then I ws trying to take notes and I can't spell anything right! This is going to be a hard semester if this keeps up!

Much of your oxygen and blood supply is being directed towards your growing child. Just this morning my boss placed a brochure on my desk with directions on what to do with it, and I immediately forgot! I tried to think about it for half an hour and then I finally had to confess that I had blanked out. It's completley normal and we're not getting dumber, so don't worry. I've taken to writing my tasks down on sticky notes in case I forget them, and I've had to become even more organized concerning my bills and payments (thank goodness for monthly electronic deductions from my account or I'd have mounting late fees!)

YES! I am 34 weeks pregnant, and I have no brain at all! I find myself talking and then all of the sudden start stumbling and just totally forgetting what I'm talking about! Or if I go to do something, I forget what I was going to do! It's insane! I seriously have never felt so dumb in my whole life! I'm glad that I'm not the only one :)

Yes! This is happening to me also :) its just the hormones, or so I'm told! I have done soooooo many stupid things since I've been pregnant. Drove at night with no headlights, left the oven on, forgot to punch in at work, started the washer and didn't put the lid down etc. I could go on and on! sadly, I've been told that it doesn't go away :(

It is said that during pregnancy less blood is going to the brain so women are prone to forgetfulness during pregnancy. I myself find it very true. I can forget what I am doing or going for just from the living room to the kitchen a at most ten second walk.

OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am 32 weeks and the baby has taken my brain hostage if any one knows a scientific answer to that one let me know too. Don't tell me it's the hormons either. In my first preg. I was never like this. So good luck to you and hopefully we will be back to normal soon.

P.S. I was told by my OBGYN that a womans brain actually shrinks a degree when she is prego,

they call this pregnancy brain. and it is actually realy common. sometimesi don't even know what i'm talking about mid sentence. and multi tasking is a thing of the past. i just actually got lost in that sentence typing it. i think its has to do with te increased hormons and stress you get while pregnant.
