received a letter (e-mail) from a researcher in the uk needing some one to accept checks from companies in the us and cash them, then foward the cash directly to him in the uk ? the reason provided was it takes im too long for us checks to clear in the uk so he is looking for a us citizen to cash the checks to receive cash in more of a timely mannor? Whats up with that, I would be paid a persentage. Is this a Scam ?

yes it is. The majority of these scams come from Nigeria and are using different corporations, celebrities (I had one sent saying that she is the widow of king jordan). Don't send anything. Discard it or report it to the FBI

Yes it is a scam.. report them to the powers that be and do NOT do it. The checks will bounce and you'll be stuck with the bill.

and i suppose you have to give your bank details to accept these so called cheques right? who do you think is going to send cheques to an unknown person and expect them to forward the cash?
