I was keeping my friends children (5,7, & 9) overnight last friday. They got up early saturday to watch cartoons. I decided to watch too since its been over a decade since I watched them. What the hell has happened? No Thundercats, transformers, scooby doo, peewees playhouse, garfield and friends, bugs bunny and tweety hour, ninja turtles, gummy bears, heman shera power hour, xmen, attack of the killer tomatoes, muppet babies, fraggle rock, smurfs, snorks, NOTHING. It was all that japanime crap. Damn kids are missing out these days. What other great saturday morning cartoons do you miss??

Oh yeah, and does anyone remember that show with the dinosaurs? It was a cartoon and they had like soldier gear on and they came in a spaceship and shook hands with humans in the opening credits? Oh and I forgot all about Captain Planet.

I know...the kids these days are missing so much. I want them all on DVD so that my kids can see the great ones like the ones you named but also remember Jem, rainbow bright the muppet babies and the muppet show, teenage mutant ninja turtles, care bears, captain kangaroo and sooooo many more. Its a shame that the kids dont have those. I would wake up so early on saturday mornings and be entertained until the afternoon.

I agree. I used to look forward to watching the Smurfs every Saturday morning! I was also a big Voltron fan. But I just miss them in general. I feel bad for the kids today. They get to watch a real estate show (locally - advertising homes for sale), ads for exercise equipment, or the kids can have fun buying a machine that makes sandwiches and alfredo sauce! Ok, maybe not, but you get the picture. It's a shame, that the kids have to miss out.

Video Games - who watches TV anymore?

And believe it or not - Bugs Bunny cartoons - were originally written in the 40's and 50's for ADULTS - to be shown before the movie at a theater

My Fav is the Road Runner - and Wile E. Coyote, genius

They're still around. But I think what you meant to ask was "What happened to all the GOOD Saturday morning cartoons?"

You are right and I miss all of the shows. The new cartoons are not showing enough creativity or they are trying to copy Japanese cartoons. I love anime only when it is done by Japan. Another trend I hate is turning adult heroes into kids or young adults simply to get the kid demographic. It is an insult to everyone
